Senior UX Designer

BMC Software is looking for a Product Design Owner to design, build, and maintain software for Digital Services Operations.

As a Senior Product Designer, you will lead the design effort on a variety of projects in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment. Your role is to design innovative solutions to real market problems. You will work closely with product managers, technical architects, and software engineers to develop new product offerings and improve existing ones. You will author functional and design specifications, provide technology leadership and ensure adherence to design standards and governance processes. The role drives business value through architectural innovation such as simplification and extensibility. Requires deep expertise in User Experience Design, the ability to assess the impact of new technology trends in the area of responsibility, and a broad perspective of the business, customers and customer solutions. The successful candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills and have ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. The candidate will also generate briefings and present material clearly to team members, customers, and management. This position reports to the Director of Product Design.

Responsibilities:

• Drive the experience design of a project/product line, including authoring functional and design specifications, scalability, security, data flow, and interface.
• Contribution to the strategic vision of BMC project/product line.
• Identify impact of new technologies on BMC products and communicated to development teams.
• Partner with customers/prospects on product functionality and future direction; participate in industry briefings.
• Consider customer impact; when considering alternatives, evaluate whether something we are asking the customer to do would be reasonable. Attitude of quality, diligence and thoroughness.
• Evaluate new technologies/innovations and industry trends.
• Intentionally drives business value through design innovation.
• Mentor/provide design guidance to the development team.
• Conduct user research sessions and report findings.
